Over 99% of U.S. Federal employees have obtained at least a high school degree; nearly half, at least a college degree. The statistics are believed to be a low estimate of those attaining higher education as record updates are left to the employees' discretion. As a result, these education statistics should be considered a conservative estimate of actual educational attainment of the Federal workforce.
(Reference Table 9 of The Common Characteristics of the Government, December 2010 By US Office of Personnel Management - http://www.opm.gov/feddata/ccog.pdf).
The Table statistics only include permanent full-time employees as of the fourth quarter of FY2010.
