According to the U.S. Surgeon, the U.S. government spends about $15 billion in healthcare costs related to insomnia.  Sleep deprivation increases obesity by some 27% in those that suffer from lack of sleep.

1)      Valerian root – can be prepared in tea form or in capsules to be taken orally.
2)      Yoga – relaxation technique
3)      Diet – avoid sugars, caffeine, especially just before bed time.  Eat more magnesium rich foods (e.g.  dark leafy greens, legumes, wheat brans, cashew nuts).
