Leadership Versus Management

Leaders have followers and are people focused; creates a vision; more about inspiring and creating a vision.

Leadership styles – coach, train, democratic, task oriented.

Managers have subordinates and are work focused; establishes an agenda; more about controlling and problem solving.

Management styles – telling, directing, selling (e.g. autocratic, democratic, participative, hands-off).
